I hear your thoughts and feelings after reading that sentence. Why is it important to stay and be present all day every day?
I don’t believe in multitasking. It is a conditioned lie. Yes we are each able to start multiple projects at any given time. Of course logic will say it can be gardening or painting etc. You get the point.
He taught me a solid foundation of what I call shaping by numbers. I Handshaped around 120-25 boards for the shop, and many of those were custom. This all began in 1992. Little did I know in the late 80s after shaping a couple of boards, and modifying some of the boards. I was riding for Hobie Surfboards at the time and Timmy Patterson was shaping all my boards at the time, and they were great.That’s another story.
I’m around 35 or 40 boards into my shaping tourney and totally motivated and excited that I can shape my own Custom Boards. I was able to shape any size board for myself and anyone.
In my excitement, I began cutting out not one but four or five different boards from 7’6 to 9’6. I rough shaped each one of those boards and they were all in the racks over the shaping room.
I was stoked and very motivated for many reasons to say the least.
So the next day Steve walks in the room and looks at all of the rough shaped boards on the racks and another one on the shaping stands . Well, he looked at all of the u uncompleted boards . He calmly said ,Paul this is great. These look great and it is awesome to see all of these boards rough shaped you have been busy. He looks at me and says, but I have to tell you one thing we are not unable to sell any of the Surfboards until one of them is completed and on the show room of the shop.
I have carried this lesson and reminder ever since that day and the Shaping Rm in 1993.
I applied this to just about everything with paintings with a Projects and of course Surfboards.
It’s one thing to prep canvases as an example. But again the same important reminder applies to everything I do in my life. My positive intentions are that this will make logical sense to you. To complete projects and not create unnecessary pressure or weight on your shoulders. In your life as it has helped me in my Life.
When I first wake up, I like to do some basic stretching and movements before I get out of bed
Depending on how my body feels, I will do a head and neck, rotation, and stretching at least two sometimes three times a week. I also have a hand pressure point that I do along with my breathing meditation once or twice a week..
It’s important to flush the system in the morning. This is what I use with water and lemon with a couple, shakes of cayenne pepper, cinnamon, ground ginger, and ground garlic.
In my first drink. The water content is between eight and 10 ounces. The next one consist of electrolytes and amino powders.
I also make a large smoothie between 15 and 20 ounces with a some more of the 17 fine ripen fruit and vegetables, powders. I also add some cacao, Chia, seeds, hemp seeds, ground flaxseed, meal along with a protein powder I drink this 1-3 hours later depending on my daily activities.
This is my morning fluids and fuel till 1030to 1130 depending on what I’m doing.
I have been on this regime for the last 10 years consistently going back to 2011 for most it.
Do what works for your mind and body. The key is being consistent and discipline to do it..
The above art image is a great reminder of the importance of staying present and being present with healthy priorities. I have 2 to 4 different breathing and meditation exercises that I change them up. The one that is most consistent is a breathing humming or chanting meditation..

It’s very important with conscious awareness to clear the filters that are no longer empowering you your mind, spirit, body and soul. Learning in the silence and solitude are the keys to stay grounded and process the unhealthy conditioned thoughts habits.
I remember when I was in the single digits of life. A time of the wonder of life the adventure of learning and exploring nature. A time of growing up and learning to tell time. To ride a bike to write your name to math etc.
Growing up we learn and get inspired by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles brothers sisters, friends, neighbors, so many levels so many stories, so many experiences, .
Keep the creative fire stoked. No validation required or approval.. remember we reap what we sow so plant positive seeds daily for yourself and others, and watch it grow from the inside out.
