San Clemente shortboard & Art by Paul Carter

With some hesitation I decided it’s time to create some new boards and pass these boards on to you.

These are 3 of my personal boards that I have tested out and surfed them at trestles to make sure they are fast and loose.  

A 6’4 a 6’2 and a 5’10 each with a little more width all rhe way around for more planing and paddling speed.

They are available at Bashams factory at 209 calle de Los molinos, SC, Ca 92672.

San Clemente Surfboards & Art Paul Carter

This surfboard was inspired by a Phil Edwards and a Mike Hynson surfboard that I saw in person and from old surf moves like endless Summer.

The fin was plain yellow until one day I was surfing and lost the board on the rocks and loosened the fin in the process.

I decide to paint the fin on both sides to give it some love and re glass it. 

 The board was shaped around 1994-95, I ordered this custom 3 redwood strnger blank from Clark foam at that time,

Little did I know that I would begin painting in 2000 and as you see from the paintings on both sides this is what I was inspired to create.

The beauty of black Ink

There is a unique and clean look about black ink. This was with a picma micron #05 archival ink. I feel if I can draw something I can paint it. Stay stoked.

A 6'6 round pin=19.50- 2.3/8 thick and a 6'3 squash tail=19.75-2.3/8 thick. Custom hand shapes Ready for glassing. Stay stoked.

This is out of a Clark foam blank. A 6'6 by 19'50 by 2.3/8 thick for LG. Concave bottom with a slight reverse vee. Paint is next.

Private Reserve of Clark Foam

I have recently been inspired to dust off these Clark blanks and bring them to life. They range from 5'11 to 6 to 6'1, width from 19.50 to 19.75 to 20 wide. Get them while they last. They will have the Clark logo on each board along with the PC signature.Stay stoked...

Shaping Surfboards and Surfing in San Clemente

This was in september of 08 with my good friend Mike at lowers.  This board is the third generation off one of my favorite boards I have  surfed for over 8 years.  This is a 6'6 by 19.25 by 2.50 thick.  I grew up riding longboards and everything in between.  This board was a bit thick for my weight but it had plenty of drive and speed through the the slow sections.  In this photo I'm doing a speed check turn to set up for a drawn out bottom turn into the next section.  Speed and timing is the key to solid turns.  All of the surfboards used in the photo's are available and I'm in constant research and development with new boards on the way.  So stop by San Clemente Surfboards & Art  gallery and check out the boards.  I specialize in custom shaped Surfboards of all shapes and size's.  Stay tuned for more photo's to come.
