Summer in Laguna Beach 8-2018

This has been a hot and humid last month with record highs with the air and water high hitting 79 to 80 degrees which was amazing to say the least.

This first image was walking down into one of the many beautifal coves in Laguna Beach with the white water lines painted on the water from the incoming waves.

An amazing Sunrise in San Clemente.  I make it a point to try and watch a sunset as much as possible to slow down and reflect on the day.

There is a unique energy and feeling that happens when watching the sunrise.

Get out and watch the sun and always focus on being grateful and thankful.

New Surfboard Handshaped shortboard Paul Carter

New surfboards and shortboards in SoCal San Clemente. As a Hand shaper for over 20 years I still enjoy Hand shaping all my boards. It's sculpting and art with every aspect hand made in the USA.

Here is a light blue in opeque color which is mixed in the resign which gives a classic look on a modern surfboard. The board Is 19.75 wide by 2.38 thick for with a nice curve in the tail outline for speed and tight turns in the pocket. 

Set up with future fins the F6 and I like the 350s for the back quad set up for more munuverabiltiy and speed and less drag.

The clear board is a 6'4 by 2.58 thick by 21.50 this is for a guy in the 175-200 lb range a excellent board for waves in the solid waist to over head surf also set up as a five fins as well. 

If your getting a quad get the center fin you will be happy you did. It gives many more options for many types of waves. Let me know if you have any comment or questions.

This is one of the latest a 5'5 swallow tail by 19.50 for JW artwork is by Jared Walker. This is a great board for reef or beach breaks from waist to solid head high. The idea was to give a bit more privacy in the sauna with a surfer dream and a grape vine. 

The house I grew up in had grape vines growing an always enjoyed eating them.

 I used sharpie and poska paint pens for this project and took my time and had fun.

New San Clemente Surfboards and Art

These are a coupe of the latest a 5'6 by 20 and 2.25 and a 5'9 by 20.75. These boards are excellent for reef breaks and point breaks and fun for the beach breaks. Also did a slash paint design for both boards. The 5'9 is a board I Will ride at trestles in chest to a couple of feet overhead. Been having a blast on a 5'8 by 21.25 so I wanted to bring the dimensions a bit for more performance in the pocket of the waves.
