Inspired by nature painting 2017

Happy New Year to each  and everyone of you and I thank you for your positive support and intentions and the best year ever.

 Here is the first painting of 2017 and abstract open minded painting with a Surfers dream wave and some palm trees to wrap up a tropical dream.  This is acrylic on canvas I started with a abstract back round and I like to use paint pens for the highlighting detailing.

It's been a journey with this 4/10ft mural

using only foam and regular paint brushes and some paint pens. It's a surfers dream of a painting and is now on display on the south side of the building at 2208 s el Camino real. The idea was to give a bit more privacy in the sauna with a surfer dream and a grape vine. 

The house I grew up in had grape vines growing an always enjoyed eating them.

 I used sharpie and poska paint pens for this project and took my time and had fun.

HandShaped in San Clemente

This is a recent Hand shaped longboard a 10'2 with a wood tail block. The three stringers look amazing on any size surfboard and the added strength keeps the board alive for many years longer then single stringers. It takes anywhere from 3 to 4 hours on this size board and another 2-3 on the tail blocks by matching the tail curves top and bottom. Shaping Surfboards San Clemente

This is the latest custom shape for Jack, a 5'1 by 20.58 wide and 2.5 thick with black glue lines and a bass stringer. Over 7 years ago the majority of the boards I shaped were longer in the 8-10ft range. Now it's 60% shaping all shapes and sizes under 8ft . The remaining 40% is everything in between 8-10'6. Long story short I enjoy shaping more then ever because of the opened mind of the surfers today. This board is a great example of the many varieties this day in age in the shaping and surfing world it's great.
