New San Clemente Surfboards and Art

These are a coupe of the latest a 5'6 by 20 and 2.25 and a 5'9 by 20.75. These boards are excellent for reef breaks and point breaks and fun for the beach breaks. Also did a slash paint design for both boards. The 5'9 is a board I Will ride at trestles in chest to a couple of feet overhead. Been having a blast on a 5'8 by 21.25 so I wanted to bring the dimensions a bit for more performance in the pocket of the waves. Two paintings in progress one on a recently Handshaped 6'2. Laying out the design and painting on foam takes multiple steps as does hand shaping. The foam is like a sponge whichl soak up the paint if not prepared and painted correctly. See painting videos on web page for reference. Hand Shaped Clark Foam blank from 1985

This was a flashback project from 1985, A Clark foam blank that was 80% shaped from the 80s era with a couple of deep channels which I shaped out using the electric planer and put in concave,As you can see from the outline I changed that up with a clean curve.

The board was pretty yellow from sitting in a garage for over 20 years,was stoked my friend Rob gave it to me after all these years.

The three stringers look amazing on any size surfboard and the added strength keeps the board alive for many years longer then single stringers. Sunset and Drawing in San Clemente

A cooler time of year when the clouds and color are amazing with the fresh cool air.
This sunset was like a painting that evolved into a mesmerizing combination of colors that made me stop and take some deep breathe and say thank you.
The drawing was inspired from the sunset the day before showing the silhouette of Catalina. As you can see I put a bit more curve in the island with my drawing.
