Everyday is a new adventure San Clemente , Surfboards & art by #paulcterart

Saved from the fire into a custom freehand painting by Paul Carter
We are not here to simply survive. We are here to grow forward planting the positive seeds and thrive daily.
This piece of wood was cut from a larger piece that was saved from becoming firewood.
I am reminded the importance of being present and choosing healthy thoughts and patterns and activities that empower one’s self.
It’s very important with conscious awareness to clear the filters that are no longer empowering you your mind, spirit, body and soul.  Learning in the silence and solitude are the keys to stay grounded and process the unhealthy conditioned thoughts habits.
I remember when I was in the single digits of life. A time of the wonder of life the adventure of learning and exploring nature.  A time of growing up and learning to tell time.  To ride a bike to write your name to math etc.
Growing up we learn and get inspired by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles brothers sisters, friends, neighbors, so many levels so many stories, so many experiences, .
Keep the creative fire stoked. No validation required or approval..  remember we reap what we sow so plant positive seeds daily for yourself and others, and watch it grow from the inside out.

Choosing peace over connection san Clemente surfboards & art by #paulcarterart

Choosing peace over connection is having healthy priorities and boundaries daily.
Growth takes courage. And emotional maturity,, discipline.  Having self respect and mutual respect is key to build trust..  Yes don’t forget accountability and responsibility…
Ego is all based on the constant need for validation and approval.
In short it’s all based on one’s fear and all the negative conditioning learned growing up and in unhealthy relationships.  An avoidant will always run away out of fear.
Connection doesn’t have to be chaos. It’s a choice by staying present on what’s important and what’s not..
I am grateful and thankful to God for the power of Free-Will all day every day…
Consistency is key and the truth will always show itself either positive or negative…
Here is a custom made surfboard and art work for a good friend.
This outline works great in many size ranges from 6ft all the way through and up to 7ft.

Most boards have either a 1/8 inch or quarter inch stringer.
This board has what’s called a wedge stringer set up.  With two 1/8 inch Basswood stringers..
I first saw the stringer set up surfing down in Mexico on a Renny Yater surfboard.
That board the stringers were too close together, and the box didn’t fit in between the stringers.  I changed the dimensions and began putting the wedge design into my boards some years later when I started shaping in 1993.

These are the custom colors the client asked for in a abstract painting.  Each board is custom made along with each painting which is one of kind.  These are freehand painted.

This outline has the options of a Square tail, or squash, tail, and swallowtail.  The width adjustments are available between 19.50 all the way through and up to 21.75 wide in the center .   Remember it’s the width and the rail thickness is where the buoyancy comes from.  Not the in liters Or the center thickness.   It come from water displacement and buoyancy through the width and the rail thickness.

Here is an inspired new sketch, showing many thoughts and reminders for life, and having a healthy relationship with yourself, and with others on all levels.

You want to grow forward then stop looking for emotional approval and validation through the lies of ego…

surfboard fin drawing by Paul Carter

Painting a surfboard fin

I was recently commissioned by a long time friend C.M, we grew up surfing one of the magical surf breaks of Trestles.

He ask for a design around the infamous break called church,  hence the name church which was a stones throw away from the water back in a previous time capsule of Camp Pendleton.

This a perspective either from the bridge or the hill top.  There is a large palm tree on the north side of the bridge that was there in the early 1980s, along with many more just south.

I like to create a sketch of an idea before painting and this is the actual size of the fin and drawing which is a 9.5 inch fin.

When I start the painting I will adjust certain parts of the original drawing which is part of being totally present in the creative process.

Drawing tips at sano with a time lapse ink drawing from my imaginations and the travels around the planet.

I am finding the importance of keeping that creative balance from the inside out is key, and using the left and ride sides of the brain to stay fit and stoked on a healthy lifestyle.
A reminder for all of us that balance is a mental, nutritional, spiritual, physical journey and each is important to the other.  Health is a daily choice not chance.

Focus & breathe drawing Palo santo

A drawing using Palo santo wood simply by burning it and going for it without sharpening the wood other than burning it.  A positive reminder to myself and all of us, to stay focused and do the work daily to grow forward not simply go forward.

Drawing with palo santo wood by Paul Carter

Drawing with palo santo wood by burning the wood and by turning it as I am drawing it eventually gets sharper.  I know what your thinking why don't I simply sharpening the wood?
I thought about that but the ritual of burning the wood and drawing is a journey in itself simply by doing the activity and the work is key to learning.

This drawing is part reality of growing up and my travels around the planet and the memories and imagination from my mind in a spontaneous inspired creation.
This drawing was shortly after a morning balance breathing session to get grounded and clear before I start my day.  if you would like to know more about my daily rituals send email to cboards.com@gmail.com or 949-370-5807 and I look forward to talking with you.

We hold the keys painting overview by Paul Carter #009

We hold the keys to life, painting overview by Paul Carter

I have been surfing since I was four years old.  I am always learning from the ocean and the power of nature is how I stay balanced from the inside out.

My inspiration from nature has been the majority of the paintings from the past into the future.

Life is mental spiritual then physical and the keys represent the reminders of the daily choices we all have to make and we each hold the keys to unlock the doors the health, happiness and yes wealth which comes from doing what one truly enjoys doing.

Handshaped Sup San Clemente Surfboards & Abstract Art

custom handshaped sup boards surfboards stand up paddleboards
Paul Carter handshaped sup
Here is the latest Sup board for JP a 7'10 by 28 by 4 thick. This stand up paddle board is set up with five boxes for the many options an ways to ride waves from 1-6 feet.
JP requested a abstract painting with the 3 colors she liked.
This board has a nice curve through the outline and a nice nose and tail rocker for speed and manuverability with a concave to vee bottom.
I also put in two extra plugs in either side of the handle for a secondary handle which can be tucked in the handle when not in use.
One of the aspects that keep me inspired and motivated is the wide varity of surfboard shapes available this day in age.
